Johnny Chan Classic

It's not a stretch to call Johnny Chan one of the better-known poker pros. He had a cameo in the movie Rounders and he even mentored 2006 WSOP champ Jamie Gold.

This weekend Chan will be taking part in the Johnny Chan Classic at the River Rock Hotel and Casino in Richmond, B.C., Canada.

The tournament started on May 6 and will run until May 13. Top prize is $62,500.

Paris Hilton's jail sentence is the hot news topic of the day and not surprisingly sports books are offering prop bets to match.

If you’re a reader of the tabloids, and unfortunately even if you’re not, you’ve no doubt heard the name Paris Hilton.

The socialite first gained notoriety with a sex tape a few years ago and attached herself to the North American consciousness and refused to let go with ensuing Reality Shows, CDs and movie appearances.

Last September, Hilton was charged with driving under the influence, a charge she pled “no contest” to. She was placed on probation for three years, fined and had her driver’s license suspended among other things.

After violating her probation, a judge sentenced her to 45 days in jail.

Not surprisingly, the betting world is all over this.
