The 79th Academy Awards show takes place on Sunday, February 25, 2007 and the best in the movie industry will be honored. On the flipside, the Golden Raspberry Awards for the industries worst will be awarded the night before.

The Black Sox Scandal of 1919 is a stain that MLB has had a lot of trouble washing out. Members of the Chicago White Sox apparently threw World Series that year, leading to the expulsion of eight players from baseball.

People still talk about the scandal to this very day so you can understand why the league is a little nervous about Liberty Media's bid for the Atlanta Braves.

Liberty Media also owns sports betting information website Donbest and with images of the Black Sox still on people's minds even after 88 years, the deal is far from being done.

First full workouts for Spring Training start within the next two days and even though it's early, the Braves may have more than just baseball on their minds.

FUN Technologies and their subsidiary SkillJam recently signed a deal with satellite TV provider DIRECTV to provide a variety of skill-based cash games for Game Lounge, a new DIRECTV exclusive gaming channel.

The new channel allows subscribers to compete against one another in online tournaments, through their television sets.

As part of the deal, SkillJam will contribute games and among the offerings are Free Cell, Solitaire, Sudoku. Blackjack, Roulette and Poker. Players need only select the game and tournament and begin playing on their television screens using their remotes.

DIRECTV was made for gaming according to FUN's CEO.
