Prior to the match, the UK's Daily Record reported that the British betting public was wagering on hometown pugilist Hatton on such big pace that the "Hitman" was the "most backed" British sports figure in a single event. The British books were probably welcoming the betting, but were probably dreading a Hatton win. Fortunately, they came out on the plus side of the ledger and avoided a huge payout. |
