TOP FIVE

Top 5 – Family Guy Characters

The writers' strike is causing much grief for all. In lieu of new episodes, TV Guide reports that Family Guy has seen a 17 percent increase in viewers aged 18-49 and in that vein . . .

5) Brian Griffin - Unlike most family pets, Brian Griffin talks, drinks martinis and is a liberal-minded member of Mensa.

4) Joe Swanson - We find Griffin neighbour Joe Swanson's primal, testosterone-fueled outbursts very amusing.

3) Lois Griffin - Even though she's a cartoon, there is something sexy about Lois' nasally voice, red hair and slim figure.

2) Glenn Quagmire - With his "Giggity Giggities" and Hemi-powered libido, Quagmire provides hours of laughs.

1) Stewie Griffin - He's matricidal, sexually ambiguous and a bookie on the side. Little Stewie tops our favorite Family Guy character list.

SPORTS

Boxing fans on both sides of the Atlantic were probably tuning in to the weekend bout between Ricky Hatton and Floyd Mayweather Jr. in Las Vegas.

Prior to the match, the UK's Daily Record reported that the British betting public was wagering on hometown pugilist Hatton on such big pace that the "Hitman" was the "most backed" British sports figure in a single event.

The British books were probably welcoming the betting, but were probably dreading a Hatton win.

Fortunately, they came out on the plus side of the ledger and avoided a huge payout.
