World Series of Poker News

The No-Limit Texas Hold'em Championship Event is still to take place, but that doesn't mean that nothing has transpired at this year's World Series of Poker. Here are some notable results so far.

Cairan O'Leary took close to $730,000 in Event #3, NL Hold'em.

Annie Duke and Chris "Jesus" Ferguson finished third and fourth respectively, in Event #8, Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi-Low-8 or Better.

Sports Betting In Delaware?

A bill was introduced at the state House in Delaware that seeks to legalize sports betting.

Under terms of the bill, the state lottery would introduce a sports lottery that would involve professional and collegiate bets, with universities and colleges in Delaware off limits.

Although the legislation does have support, Governor Ruth Ann Minner said should would veto the bill.

Forget Paris Hilton, the entertainment news du jour involves the series finale of HBO's hit show The Sopranos, which takes place this coming Sunday.

The public sure has a fascination with Mob-related entertainment. Puzo’s The Godfather, Scorsese’s Goodfellas and even Richard Woodley’s Donnie Brasco were all bona fide hits, much like David Chase’s HBO series The Sopranos, with the drama that examines Tony Soprano’s psyche and his day-to-day running of both of his families captivating audiences for well over six seasons.

One of this season’s storylines, fittingly enough, saw Tony developing an addiction to gambling and with only one episode left you can bet—no pun intended—that the betting public and bookies are eagerly awaiting the series finale.

Sopranos “whack” props are always a big draw for books and this season has seen some notable characters sleeping with the fishes.

On again, off again substance abusing nephew twice removed, Christopher Moltisanti was “relived of his family duties” by Uncle Tony a few episodes ago, much to the joy of some chalk bettors. Chrissy was one of the favorites to join Big Pussy, Richie and Ralphie at +600.

Soprano sibling Janice was listed at 29-1 prior to the final episodes and while she has survived so far, the same cannot be said of her husband Bobby Bacala, who got the Sonny Corleone treatment in a hobby store in this past week’s episode.
